Due to the route of the Long(er) Walk being away from developed areas a Personal Locator Beacon is necessary in the event of an emergancy. The Spot X device also allows Sarkis to communicate with us in these remote areas, send images, post to social media and share the adventure with everyone. Additionally The Spot X is capable of allowing everyone to track Sarkis's progress along the route. This is possible with the addition of a service plan. The cost of annual service plan and necessary add-ons for this event retail for  This PBL retails for $479.40, we are offering forty-eight (48) shares at $10 each.

Whether you buy 1 or more your support is greatly appreciated and will help ensure a successful event. Thank You. Your are not actually purchasing an items, rather you are donating monies to support the purchase of equipment and supplies that will be used during the 3,500 mile hike, “The Long(er) Walk” honoring fallen heroes and other heroes that cannot walk for themselves.

  • My Story: My name is Sarkis, I served 21 years 1 month and 13 days in the US Army. I was a mechanic turned Special Forces Medical Sergeant, serving overseas in Kosovo, Korea, Iraq and Afghanistan. After nearly 5 years of combat deployments I returned home changed as did many of us. Along the way I lost many friends, saw many more families crumble and although we all felt the change, we continued to be there for one another, a true brotherhood. In keeping with that bond, I hope to be there again.

    The Goal:

Complete a memorial ruck (hike) spanning over 3,500 miles from Special Operations Command Memorial on MacDill Airforce Base (Tampa Florida) to the US/Canada border along the Eastern Continental Trail and Appalachian Trail. The primary purpose is to honor service members which never returned and all veterans that served our nation at the cost of “change.” I will carry their names and thier stories with me each and every step. As they join me on my quest to “walk of the Army” I hope to help them (and their families) regain something that has been lost along their sacrifice. Through this long endeavor I hope to unite military families and veterans to remain strong, re-claiming the bond of brotherhood held during service and to fight off challenges faced after serving.
